Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

God Loves us in Christ So Much That He has to Tell us In Shocking Images amid Shocking Judgments

How Does a Mighty and Just God Right In our Midst Tell Us of His Love for Us?

1. . Usually God in their midst was a scary thing and a time of shocking judgments.

2. To Make the Measure of His Love Clear, God Tells Us Using Shocking Images

​God Shows His Love for His People By His Shouting

​ Psalm 47:1-5

he will rejoice over you with gladness

​Usually when God is silent it is not good.

​Psalm 109:1

​“he will quiet you by his love” = “he is silent in his love”

God Shows His Love for His People By His Singing

​Usually we do not associate singing with something God does??

​he will exult over you with loud singing.

​To go around, to be excited to the point of levity…

​To give a ringing cry in praise to…. Loud singing and jubilation
