Corporate Confession of Sin – Almighty God, we confess we have broken your commandments. We have sinned by selfishness, worldliness, unbelief and pride. We have not loved our neighbor as ourselves, and we have not walked humbly with you. Forgive us our sins and blot out our debts according to your tender mercies, according to your loving kindness. Cleanse us by the blood of Jesus your Son. Give us a humble and contrite heart that we might forgive others as you have forgiven us. We ask through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Sermon – An Exposition of John 16:12-15: “The Spirit’s Work in the Apostolic Church”

Jesus sends the Spirit of Truth to minister His Word to us.

1. He guides the apostolic church into all truth in Christ. (John 16:12-13a)

2. He reveals to the apostolic church future things in Christ. (John 16:13b)

3. He makes known the Gospel to the apostolic church to glorify God in Christ. (John 16:14-15)

Announcements – Week of 7/16/2023

1. Prayer for Revival – On Tuesday morning, July 18th, Pastor Phelps will be leading prayer here at the church from 8:00 – 8:45AM. All are welcome!

2. Women's Fellowship will be this Wednesday, July 19th, at 6:30 pm at the church. Samantha Slader will be hosting the evening! Please use the signup sheet on the bulletin board!

3. Our annual Church Picnic will be this Saturday, July 22nd, at the Miner’s farm at Noon. Bring lawn chairs and lawn games if you’d like. There is a swimming pool available! Please sign up to bring 1 or 2 side dishes on the sheets on the bulletin board in the hallway. Volunteers are needed for grilling and clean up as well! 4. Next Sunday, July 23rd, Timothy Miner will be making his public profession of faith to become a Communicant Member of Living Hope OPC. He will also be baptized at Grace Community Church (1290 Minesite Road) immediately following our worship service.

5. Apologetics Movie Night: Sunday, July 23rd at 6:15 PM there will be a free showing of American Gospel: Christ Alone at Living Hope OPC. The runtime is about 1 hour & 30 minutes, followed by time for discussion. Feel free to bring snacks. All are welcome!

6. Singles Event at Boardwalk Chapel: August 5th – 12th, come serve with other singles at the Boardwalk Chapel, an evangelistic ministry of the OPC in Wildwood, New Jersey. Come for a day or two, or for the week. There is more information posted on the hallway bulletin board for anyone who is interested!

7. HOPE KIDS School Supply Collection – Each year we collect school supplies for the children in the inner city of Allentown. There is a bin in the hallway for the collection. We will be collecting supplies until August 13th.  Any questions, ask Beth Barshinger.
