LIVING HOPE OPC ORDER OF WORSHIP

for Sunday, April 13th, 2025, at 10:45 AM

Opening Song – Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the Highest!

Gospel Greeting – Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.    Gal. 1:3-5

Call to Worship Song – All Hail King Jesus

Call to Worship – How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD of hosts! My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God. Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at your altars, O LORD of hosts, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house, ever singing your praise!            Psalm 84:1-4

Prayer of Adoration & Invocation

Medley of Praise – Hosanna, Loud Hosanna / NTH 235 – All Glory, Laud, and Honor

Reading of the Law – Luke 10:25-28

(Silent Confession of Sin)

General Confession of Sin – Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned; but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because He has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.  John 3:16-18

Exhortation to Give – Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.    Heb. 13:16

Sermon – An Exposition of Hebrews 11:17-22: “The Gospel-Faith of Our Fathers”

With our fathers, let us have faith in the life-giving power of the Gospel.

1. Abraham believed God could raise the Son of Promise. (Hebrews 11:17-19)

          a. Do you trust in Christ, the risen Son of Promise?

2. Isaac and Jacob believed future things concerning their descendants. (Hebrews 11:20-21)

          a. Do you trust Christ to be merciful to a thousand generations?

3. Joseph believed his bones would be laid to rest in the land of promise. (Hebrews 11:22)

          a. Do you trust Christ to raise up your body in a new heaven and earth?

Prayer of Application

Hymn of Response – NTH 358 – For All the Saints

Benediction – Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word. 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
