LIVING HOPE OPC ORDER OF WORSHIP (with Communion)

for Sunday February 2nd, 2025 at 10:45 AM

Opening Song – His Mercy Is More

Gospel Greeting – To those who are called, beloved in God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ: May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.     Jude 1:1-2

Call to Worship Song – The Risen Christ

Call to Worship – But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than that of Abel.    Hebrews 12:22-24

Prayer of Adoration & Invocation

Hymns of Praise Medley – NTH 172 – Let Us Love and Sing and Wonder / NTH 296 – All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name!

Reading of Law – A Summary of the Ten Commandments & Great Commandment

(Silent Confession of Sin)

General Confession of Sin – Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against your holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done; and we have done those things which we ought not to have done; and there is no health in us. But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders. Spare those, O God, who confess their faults. Restore those who are penitent, according to your promises declared unto mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord. And grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous and sober life, to the glory of your holy name. Amen.

Declaration of Pardon – Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised— who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Rom. 8:33-34

Exhortation to Give – So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.           Gal. 6:10

Offering and Diaconal Collection with Prayer (Offertory: NTH 168 – I Greet Thee, Who My Sure Redeemer Art)

Communion Sermon – An Exposition of Hebrews 10:11-18: “The Finality of the Cross”

Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross is final and all sufficient for us, because:

1. He has been seated in glory. (Hebrews 10:11-13)

2. He has perfected us forever. (Hebrews 10:14)

3. He has established the new covenant. (Hebrews 10:15-18)

Therefore, rest in God’s promise to remember your sins no more, even as you walk by the Spirit.
