Gospel Greeting – Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Call to Worship Hymn – NTH 710 – God of Our Fathers

Call to Worship – Oh come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. Psalm 95:1-3

Prayer of Adoration & Invocation

Hymn of Praise – NTH 711 – God, the All-Terrible!

Reading of the Law – Titus 3:1-3

(Silent Confession of Sin)

General Confession of Sin – Almighty, everlasting God, for our many sins we justly deserve eternal condemnation. In Your great mercy, you sent your beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who won for us forgiveness of sins and everlasting righteousness. Grant us true repentance that, dead to sin, we may be raised up by faith in Your life-giving Gospel. Grant us your Holy Spirit that we may be ever thankful and live a faithful and godly life in your service; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon – But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. – Titus 3:4-7

Exhortation to Give – Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.    Heb. 13:16

Collection with Prayer (Offertory: NTH 685)

Doxology – NTH 731

Pastoral Prayer

Medley – Beneath the Cross / Yet Not I, but Through Christ in Me

Prayer for Illumination

Sermon – An Exposition of Hebrews 3:1-6: “Jesus, Our Apostle & High Priest”

Carefully consider JESUS – and hold fast to Him!

1. Because of who YOU are. (Hebrews 3:1a)

2. Because of who HE is for you: (Hebrews 3:1b-2)

          a. Jesus is your apostle and priest.

          b. Jesus is like Moses.

                    i. He was faithful.

          c. Jesus is SUPERIOR to Moses. (Hebrews 3:3-6)

                    i. He is the divine builder of God’s house.

ii. He is the Son over God’s house.

3. Because who else can save you and keep you? Not Moses, and not you. Only JESUS.

Prayer of Application

Song of Response – NTH 707 – Jesus, I My Cross Have Taken

Benediction – May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.          Romans 15:13
