Sermon – An Exposition of John 14:25-31: “Jesus Gives His Spirit and His Peace”

The Father sends the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ Name for Gospel instruction and remembrance. And so:

1. The Word and Spirit of Christ instruct us in the peace of Christ. (John 14:25-27)

2. The Word and Spirit of Christ give us understanding of the work of Christ. (John 14:28-31)

Announcements – Week of 4/23/23

1. On Tuesday morning, April 25th, Pastor Phelps will be leading Prayer for Revival here at the church from 8:00 – 8:45AM. All are welcome!

2. There is NO Wednesday evening Bible Study and Prayer this week, because Players of the Stage is staging a private showing of Quality Street for Living Hope and their friends this Wednesday night, April 26 at 7 pm. Invite a friend. There will be refreshments provided by POTS during intermission.  We will be raising money for Love Ran Red. Love Ran Red Foundation is a Christian-based, nonprofit foundation dedicated to helping adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Intellectual Disabilities.

3. The Bright Hope Pregnancy Center Fundraiser Walk is Saturday, April 29th. Register at brighthopepartners.org. Click on Events>Lehigh Valley Walk for Life.  The first 300 walkers who register will receive a free t-shirt. Please be sure to mark your t-shirt size when you register. Please see the information on the bulletin board if you would like to sign up to sponsor someone.

4. Next Sunday, April 30th, David Green will be presenting on Missions in SE Asia during the Sunday School hour.

5. Apologetics Movie Night: Sunday, April 30th at 6:30 PM there will be a free showing of “The Privileged Planet” at Living Hope OPC. All are welcome!

6. The first Women’s Fellowship gathering will be on Tuesday, May 16th at 6:30 PM. The women gather at church for a time of fellowship and dessert. Betty Minich will take some time to share her testimony! Come and bring a friend for an enjoyable time. Please sign up on the sheet in the hallway.

7. 2023 Machen Spring Singles Conference – May 26–29, 2023 – there is an insert in the bulletin for this singles conference.
